The most important building block for our energy production is the solar thermal energy: the collection of hot water tanks from solar collector-won sun energy. That is enough for the creation of hot water in summer. During the cooler months, further energy is enforced through the hot water pumps run by eco-electricity.
A wood chip fuelled power plant produces extra required energy for the heating on cold days. The Heating Icon comes from the well-known south Tirol architect Matteo Thun. The construction is similar to an old house-of-God, the St. Viet Chapel in south Tirol.
The hotel is part of the Zero energy city project.
